Normal - with faeces Hover on/off image to show/hide findingsTap on/off image to show/hide findings Normal - with faecesThis is a normal rectal X-ray with faecal material seen in the large bowel. There is no vestige of exenterate obstruction or perforation. The psoas muscle whet is unmistakably specified on the left, but not on the right. Although loss of this silhouette is associated with retroperitoneal pathology, such as psoas abscesses, it is moreover often woolgathering on normal X-rays. Therefore, rectal X-rays cannot be used to confidently diagnose retroperitoneal problems. Normal soft tissues Hover on/off image to show/hide findingsTap on/off image to show/hide findings Normal soft tissuesSome rectal X-rays show soft tissue structures largest than others. The liver, spleen and kidneys are well-defined in this image.X-rays are not routinely used to assess these organs. Ultrasound or CT are much increasingly informative. « PreviousTopNext » Follow Radiology Masterclass Follow us on Facebook Email NewsletterFollow Radiology Masterclass on Facebook or sign up to our email newsletter to get the latest news and offers.Trauma X-ray certificates Study the undertow material in the tutorials and galleries sections - then sign up to take your undertow completion assessment...Login or register to get started.Acute CT smart-ass document Our most popular online undertow completion assessment. All courses are accredited by the Royal College of Radiologists - London - UK.Your certificateGet an accredited document of victory by completing one of our online undertow completion assessments.A unconfined way to enhance your portfolio!Take undertow towage ©Radiology Masterclass 2007 - | Terms and Conditions | Privacy Policy
